It’s Time to Roller Skate

On Wednesday, February 19th children enrolled in the Spring Creek After School Program and Teen Central had fun during their Mid-winter Recess. In addition to having a week off from school, they were able to do lots of exciting activities, including a trip to a roller skating rink. The children got up bright and early on their vacation in order to catch the bus at 11:30 am at the Brooklyn Sports Club. The bus met the kids and the chaperones and away they went to United Skates of America, Inc. in Seaford Long Island, New York to roller skate.

Each roller skater paid $10 for the two and a half hour roller skating session (which included the roller skates rental, the two and a half hour session and lunch). There were 20 participants from Teen Central and 15 from the Spring Creek After School Program that went on this fun adventure

Some of the children have been there before and know how to roller skate, while this is the first time for others. This has been an annual event for both the Spring Creek After School Program and Teen Central. While roller skating, the children enjoyed the music playing. The music was played by a DJ and that made the kids feel more at home.

During the two and a half hour session, the kids took a break to have lunch. Lunch was provided by United Skates of America, Inc. and consisted of all you can eat pizza and beverages. The kids couldn’t wait to get back to roller skating.

The kids had a blast and definitely wanted to return and roller skate again.
