SCTA’s Fun Fridays

The Starrett City Tenants Association (SCTA) held their second Fun Friday on June 21st. The residents came prepared to have fun. This was an energetic competitive group of residents who came to have a good time with their neighbors and meet new friends.

The residents enjoyed the sounds of the soul oldies and Latin music. While some residents danced and showed off their moves, others were playing competitive games like Scrabble where they even made sure to look up the words they weren’t sure of or did not know to make sure that their opponents were in fact using words.

Others enjoyed playing card games like Spades or Pity Pat, while others tested their skills at Milton Bradley’s Operation. Operation is a game where players use their skill and coordination to remove the patients “ailments” with tweezers without setting off the buzzer.

Some residents brought food to the Fun Friday extravaganza to share with their neighbors and friends. They decided at the last Fun Friday that they would like to bring some food and asked SCTA President Rebecca Caraballo if that would be ok. They feasted on red rice and beans, chicken wings, and anti-pasta. Other residents contributed by bringing sodas, and even paper goods. Residents weren’t required to bring anything but, they thought it might be good to have some food instead of just having light refreshments during the time frame where most people have dinner.
