Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill resident and St. Jean Baptiste High School senior Deja Jenkins was recently named a scholarship award recipient at the Futures and Options annual Dream Big Gala, which took place at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan.

Jenkins is looking forward to attending college in the fall 2015. She is interested in a number of school, they include Fordham, Howard, Ithaca, Stony Brook and Syracuse.

Futures and Options is an organization that empowers New York City’s underserved youth to explore careers through career development and internships. This year’s event featured a special recognition of the diligence and tenacity of Futures and Options students through college scholarship awards presented to high school seniors through a competitive application process. Jenkins was awarded the IPG Mediabrands Scholarship and Internship, a scholarship presented to high-achieving students who are interested in careers in media and advertising.
