Starrett Early Learning Center’s (ELC) pre-kindergartners burst into the Brooklyn Sports Club’s (BSC) gymnasium to the tune “Dynamite” like little shooting stars for their final school performance—stepping up ceremony on June 22nd .
The children exhibited a cool, celebrity-esque demeanor, as they strutted past their parents and to the front of the gymnasium, where their seats and props awaited them. The students were truly dressed to impress. Some little boys wore fitted suits, bow ties, and hats. There were little girls who emanated a sense of royalty as they twirled in their fluffy dresses, wearing tiaras and glittery shoes.
The beauty of both the children and their amazing performances had parents on the edge of their seats as they attempted to capture each and every moment on camera. There were three classes, each with two teachers who helped them throughout the school year. The classes were: Ms. Amy and Ms. Sararh, Ms. Kimaura and Ms. Tiffany, and Ms. Josephine and Ms. Taji.
The classes took turns performing their very own choreographed dance routines. They danced to songs like; “Ready to Groove with us; “All I Really Need,” “Little Einsteins,” “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” “How I’ve Grown and Changed,” and the “Life Style of the Butterfly.”
The stepping up ceremony was a delight for all to watch. It was also the last graduation ceremony for ELC Director, Susan Plesnitzer, who retired on June 30th.
