On June 16th, Starrett Early Learning Center’s (ELC) pre-kindergarten class held their stepping up ceremony at the Brooklyn Sports Club (BSC). It was a joyous occasion filled with enthusiastic students dressed in their most fashionable attire. Some boys donned suits, ties and suspenders, while many of the little girls wore ribbons, fluffy dresses and sparkling sandals. The entire event commenced like a pre-kindergarten fashion show, and the parents were the paparazzi taking countless photos with their cellphones and digital cameras.
Popular dance tunes, such as Meghan Trainor’s “Better When I’m Dancing,” permeated the ELC Stepping up Ceremony, which the students boogied to during the event’s commencement. The classes were divided into three groups: Ms. Amy and Ms. Sarah’s little tikes, Ms. Kimaura and Ms. Tiffany’s students, and MS. Josephine and Ms. Taji’s children.
After some improvisational dancing, the children recited their mission statement “I Am On A Mission,” declaring their dedication to doing their very best. During the ceremony, parents, friends and teachers clapped proudly for the children who exhibited a mature demeanor during their performances.
The students bid their goodbyes to pre-kindergarten and accepted their stepping up certificates. Then the ceremony culminated with light refreshments.
