The Digital Washington Square Park Folk Festival: Organizers are happy to announce the upcoming Digital Washington Square Park Folk Festival. A Virtual Affair: Brooklyn Antiquarian Book Fair: Marvin Getman of Getman’s Virtual Book & Paper Fairs has taken his popular rare book fairs all online since the pandemic hit the United States. More than 200 vendors are expected to participate in the popular Brooklyn Antiquarian Book Fair which will take place online September 11 – 13 from noon on the 11th to 6pm on the 13th. Visit:

Apollo Theatre: In honor of the anniversary of the March on Washington, and the historical significance of August 28th and the monumental events surrounding this date in history, we revisit this year’s MLK Uptown Hall, The Strategic King: MLK’s Visionary Leadership. Moderated by WNYC’s Jami Floyd (All Things Considered), and Alison Stewart (All of It), this convening of artists and activists, journalists, and changemakers deeply engages with Dr. King’s legacy and how his actions and teachings speak to and inform the social justice matters of our own time. Making Space: Pioneering Women in Aerospace: This will be shown on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM. The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment’s ratification. To acknowledge this important anniversary, physicist Emily Martin from the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and A. N. Devers, a writer and rare book dealer specializing in women authors, will explore the history of women in aviation and also discuss their own groundbreaking careers. Visit:
