Abe Stark Primary School’s (PS) 346 wanted to continue their annual acknowledgment of Breast Cancer Awareness month, where students, staff and the members of the PTA participated in a walk to show their support. This year the walk was different because of Covid-19, not all students are in the school building on the same days and some students are distance learners.
This year on October 27th, because of social distancing restrictions only eight Pre-K students engaged in the walk. These children walked a couple of times around the hallways of PS 346 with their teachers, Mr. Young and Mrs. Lehrer. All decked out wearing paper pink ribbons which is the symbol for Breast Cancer, these youngsters and their teachers chanted, “We walk for our friends, we walk for our families.”
The Pre-K families were able to see a video of their children walking for this great cause on Class Dojo.
“The PS346 staff is working diligently to make a crazy, unprecedented time, seem less challenging”, said Lehrer.
