What’s the buzz…

Q: What is the activity around the power plant?
A: Residents of Spring Creek Towers (SCT) will soon see the arrival of ten 1.5 megawatt generators, three boilers, along with transformers, switch-gears, and fuel storage tanks in anticipation of critical work planned for the power plant in September.

Q: Why is this equipment necessary?
A: All of the equipment is necessary to ensure the delivery of electrical power and hot water for residents while the power plant is offline and undergoing much needed upgrades and valve replacements during the September project.

Q: Where is all this equipment going?
A: The generators will be temporarily placed on the grounds adjacent to the power plant on Elmira Loop. The boilers are going to be located by the power plant on Van Siclen Avenue.

Q: Will Elmira Loop to be closed to vehicular traffic?
A: The section of Elmira Loop adjacent to the power plant will be closed to traffic to allow for the placement of the generators. Vehicular traffic will be rerouted along Elmira Loop as it was previously.

Q: Will parking be restricted on a Van Siclen Avenue?
A: Parking on a portion of Van Siclen Avenue will be restricted for the duration of the project.
